hotties! Today it’s a sweet & simple celebration of the southern pecan on NATIONAL PRALINE DAY. And while I may not be a certified online Pecan expert, I do believe the actual consumption of the praline should involve chocolate & caramel for optimum enjoyment.

I have never been a fan of waffles. Maybe I’ve never had a good one. The ones my mom made were always heavy and dry.

Greetings, My Lovelies, on this much too hot and much too humid day of JUNE 30TH, with not one single item on the CHECKIDAY list of daily celebrations worthy of the usual celebrations. Therefore, I am taking the liberty of declaring this an official BE GOOD TO YOURSELF DAY … do everything, or do nothing … dine in, carry out cook, or not … have a picnic, watch tv and eat in the recliner … enjoy a cold frosty soft drink, or go hardcore … Just make the day all about you!
On a serious note … While a vast majority of the entire country is under severe weather warnings and alerts, please heed the advisories and stay safe. And it just happens to be lunch time, and we just happen to be celebrating the glory of wings on INTERNATIONAL CHICKEN WING DAY. Whether you prefer mild and mellow, hot and spicy, or somewhere in between, the choice is yours. And, while you’re at your favorite wing stop, potato salad and baked beans on the side might me the perfect accompaniment.

Around Chicago, our neighborhood pizzerias often have better wings than “wing places.” Kinda sneaky good. Maybe it’s a phenomenon in other cities and towns across the country, but certainly true here.
