Does anyone here shop at outlet malls? I havenā€™t been to one in years, but will go this week as itā€™s the closest place to make a return. Used to go all the time, but then retailers started manufacturing cheaply made clothing specifically for outlets. I noticed this at Ralph Lauren and that was the last time I stepped foot in an outlet mall, probably 15 years ago.

I have shopped at outlet mall in Rehoberh, DE, Clarksburg, MD. We have an outlet Mall about 15 minutes from my house. I never go there, difficult to find a place to park and itā€™s too big. I canā€™t do all that walking anymore, botched hip replacement surgery and bad knees.

Iā€™m about 30 miles from the Gettysburg outlets. I was last there about a year ago. Itā€™s OK but it used to have better stores. We go to Ocean City MD a few times a year. Thereā€™s a small outlet mall there, but not much there that interests me.

I used to be a big outlet mall shopper, but not so much anymore. I have one about 30 minutes from me, the Philadelphia Premium Outlets. There are some good stores , but I only get there once every year or two. There were a lot of empty stores the last time I was there.

The outlets in Ocean City are horrible! I havenā€™t been there in 6 years, and if it was bad then, I can only imagine nowā€¦ :grimacing:

Sorry to hear about the botched surgery! :frowning:

Iā€™m with you though. I wish there were more indoor outlet malls. No fun getting drenched or sunburned. One of the outlets in Vegas is indoor, but itā€™s so enormous, itā€™s easier to use your car to get from one end to another, especially if you use handicap parking.

@UglyBetty , the outlet mall near me is indoors. I never found any bargain prices. I live in Maryland. The outlet Mall in Rehobeth, DE does have a great Vineyard Vines store. I do really well on Ebay and Poshmark, especially with QVC brands. Just got 2 S. Graver liquid knit tops for $14 each.

I know the mall youā€™re talking about. Itā€™s been a while but my last visit was uninspiring. I mostly just go there for the roadside Buffalo Wild Wings.

Thank you, @SuperElevated! Same to you. I know this has most likely been a difficult birthday for you, so soon after losing your husband, but I hope youā€™ve been able to have some peaceful moments today.

Last time I was in there, I swear they had the same stores at opposite ends. The food courts were the exact same too. Gotta wonder how many locals actually make it from one end to another. Who in their right mind goes to the most basic outlet mall on vacation? :eyes: (Vegas South Premium Outlets for anyone who wants to know, North Premium has better stores but is outdoors)

The only mall I enjoy anymore is Fashion Show because there are always lots of people there without the cheese factor of Caesars or Venetian (remember free parking?) Fashion Show still has Auntie Anneā€™s but no Orange Julius. :frowning: Still, it reminds me of a time when malls were the place to be. And being on the strip, you sometimes get free entertainment! Once saw a crazy guy running down the hall completely naked with a dozen mall cops chasing him!

I agree about the Fashion Show being the only decent mall. I do miss Bloomingdaleā€™s Home (Itā€™s Dickā€™s now) and I think Sur la Table is gone. But itā€™s still busy and entertaining. It helps that I live a block away from the Strip. I always use the Nordstrom entrance to park and it was freaky to hear what happened across the street from there New Yearā€™s DayšŸ˜³

Years and years ago, the Boulevard Mall on Maryland was pretty good. But it became a shell of its former self. I havenā€™t bothered to check in years.

Marshallā€™s and TJ Max and Ross replaced outlet malls for me. Which I just realized thinking about your question.

I agree. There used to be a Dooney and Bourke outlet store about 40 minutes from my house in San Diego. They had some interesting styles at amazing prices. They still have a Ralph Lauren outlet store there but the prices are regular retail. So no point in going. I am able to find some one of a kind Ralph Lauren goodies at Ross discount stores and I used to make decent profit selling Ralph Lauren Duvets and sheet sets on eBay. They donā€™t have them anymore.

I have a very small Mall about 5 miles away. It used to be enclosed but they dismembered that and moved it about 2 miles and itā€™s now outdoors. Still small so I can go but there are no malls with good anchor stores near enough to me. But, I guess if I had to choose, in person in a large ass mall would win out over on line because I can try things on? How do you feel about that?

   Amazon is my outlet mall of choice. I occasionally venture to our local Boscovā€™s , Kohlā€™s, or Ollieā€™s Outlet. Iā€™ve even done some recent online shopping at JCPenney, their sales are really great, and they still carry many of their own brands that Iā€™m familiar with. I used to love a shopping day at an out of town mall, now, not so much.
