Just a thread for non shopping talk.
I think we have quite a few cat lovers here.
In a few days, Iāll be driving cross country with a relativeās cat. She had a stroke recently and cannot care for him anymore (not that she cared for him before the stroke, but thatās another story)
Any tips for traveling with a cat? Heās older and very used to riding in the car, I already bought portable litter boxes, a big carrier you can strap in, lots of blankets and pillows.
I canāt wait to get him home so he can meet his two sisters and enjoy the kitty retirement home thatās somehow taken over my guest room.
You should be good given he is car-friendly. I have driven car-hating cats cross-country several times, and after initial yowling, they have settled down and been awesome travelers. Even my nervous ones enjoyed exploring the hotels. Nobody ever needed a litter box until the hotel, but definitely be prepared because if you arenāt he is guaranteed to need it!
You are AWESOME for taking this guy! I have adopted a few shelter kitties who ended up there after their people died and the families dumped them (I get that sometimes itās the best option, just saying).
Whelpā¦no advice on traveling with a cat. The only times my cats were in the car was when going to the vet. Our Westie traveled with us because dogs are adventurous. I think the cat will do fineā¦Since he is used to being in a carā¦you can let him drive at nightā¦lolā¦Have a safe trip and stay snarky.
Just to let you guys know, Iām out of hearts already!! I loved all your posts so much that apparently Iām out of hearts! So no heart doesnāt mean I didnāt appreciate your post :).
LOL Aunt Carol; I think we are all so happy to be together again!
Not sure, but I think you get more options the longer you are here. I got a note from the site saying I was allowed to do more after I had posted or been here āxāamount of time.
Still trying to figure out navigating this site. Do the different-colored squares mean anything?
Hello: Do we have any other emojis besides the heart? I know we must but I canāt find them. Help please.
you can use just an emoji etierh replies have to be 20 charactaer
How does one quote?
Post pictures?
HELP!!!
Itās probably device dependant but on an iPad to quote you highlight the text you want to quote and a sub menu opens. Choose quote and the reply box will open up with your selected qote all set up for you to add your comment to.
For attaching a pic click Reply to open up the reply box, the photo icon is the one that looks like a miniature painting tothe left of the smiley.
Works on a hp laptop with windows 11ā¦Good info
Now I found them!! When you open the reply window they are up above.
Thanks! That seems to be the ticket!
thank you, I was hoping there was more than the emoji!
Iām not seeing them when I open this reply.
Iām sad about the lack of other emojis too, and will try to figure something out. That said, I do have to weigh cost/benefits because I am footing the bill and am not about to spend $500/month just so we can have other emojis. I can live with the hearts for the savings and the fact that the site is free to users with no ads.
Home with the cat, the car ride was very easy, seeing family was not.
I jumped right back into work this morning, and have a lot to do about getting these cats acquainted, so please forgive me if Iām not as active right now. Looks like the less moderation thing is working out, everyone is behaving themselves, and Iām happy to see all the snark after these last very difficult days.
Thanks for your support, Iāll post more about it all soon.
Welcome backā¦.Glad to hear the cat is doing wellā¦
So happy you and the kitty are safe and sound! Good luck with the intros! Cats can be suchā¦cats.
