For those of you who are familiar with Perry’s Zero Visibility Ice Cream, it returns this year, Fall thru Winter of 2026. It’s a scrumptious blend of pure vanilla & rum ice cream with a very generous amount of freshly shredded snowy white coconut. It was created to “celebrate” the Blizzard of 1977 that hammered Buffalo and the entire Great Lakes Region. If you are fortunate to live in or near an area that carries Perry’s Ice Cream, it is worth every penny. It’s a limited edition flavor that resurfaces every five years, so it won’t be back until Fall 2031, so grab what ever you can.

It’s a slightly cool, and sparkling sunshine filled day on WEDNESDAY JUNE 3rd, one that could pass for a beautiful fall day. And isn’t that ever so appropriate for WORLD CIDER DAY, perfect for a glass of freshly pressed chilled apple cider, and an appropriate and highly recommended accompaniment … Feel Free To Indulge !

I live in the Chicago area. Southwestern Michigan has a few good orchards that do cider, and it’s very close by. Just have to swing under the lake. There are even some here in Illinois!

Ohhhhh, absolutely. For many years, my Sicilian cousins did St. Joseph’s Table open house. Definitely same idea. Pasta con le sarde, Italian beef, and all kinds of good savory stuff. Everyone brought something. And for dessert: pizzelles, zeppoli, cannoli… and much more. All homemade by various family and friends.

The mention of pizzelle cookies brought to mind a warm flood of happy memories of my Mom sitting at the kitchen table with her new electric pizzelle iron, magically cranking those babies out at warp speed, despite the rheumatoid arthritis in both of her hands. I was her loyal assistant and quality control specialist, packing the cooled cookies in giant plastic storage tubs with sheets of 
paper toweling in between several layers to prevent breakage. She kept the cookies sealed and stored in the basement where they magically stayed fresh until the last cookie. We were well stocked until 
Easter, when it was time for the next round.
I miss her like crazy, but I’m always happy whenever someone shares a memory that brings my own happy memories to mind.

Greetings, My Lovelies, on SUNDAY JUNE 7th, on what has proven to be another perfect summer day in my neighborhood. And what could be a more perfect day to sing the praises and celebrate the glory of NATIONAL CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM DAY?
Not a fan of chocolate … yes, I realize that’s hard to believe, but it’s still your day, too, because we are also celebrating the love of another delightful frozen treat on NATIONAL FROZEN YOGURT DAY!

On a serious note, and truly a reason to celebrate, today, SUNDAY JUNE 7TH is also NATIONAL CANCER SURVIVORS DAY. Whether you are a true survivor who has fought that battle, or one who has supported a friend or loved one who has been down that long and winding road, we are all too well aware of how a cancer diagnosis affects lives in so many different ways.
To those of you who have survived, may you continue to be blessed with the precious gift of life for many years to come.

I like chocolate ice cream, but I’m not a yogurt fan, whether it be chilled or frozen.
Happy MONDAY JUNE 8th, My Lovelies! And what a sweet day it is as we once again celebrate The Donut on JELLY FILLED DONUT DAY! Who knew there were so many days in the year to celebrate the Majesty of the Thingy with the Hole in the Middle … Ours is not to question, but to eat & enjoy!
