One of my girlfriends called me yesterday and told me that Jayne was physically shaking on air last night. I know she’s getting older and let herself go abit. My girl also told me she heard a rumor that the ‘‘powers that be’’ at QVC have told Josie Maran to ‘‘cover up’’ more. lol. That channel has really, really sunk. lol.
Anyone who has ever watched a Josie Maren presentation knows that she lets it all hang out …
And these photos are pretty tame compared to some of the articles of clothing she has been known to wear.
Terri Conn. I remember how long it took for her to appear comfortable in her new job. But now she is very good in my opinion. She and Gary are naturals together. And she even manages to calm down Mr. Mizrahi. I don’t mind Jayne with Gary, though I think she is one of the few on the food shows who doesn’t go ape shit and speed talk so I prefer her there.
Jane T or Jayne B

well, at least it’s advertised as sleep wear and not for public view LOGO by Lori Goldstein Printed Sleep Set - QVC.com
@MidwestCrabby I wouldn’t wear that to sleep, in fact I wouldn’t be wearing anything Lori Loco
I agree with you, @Wabbit - None of her stuff looks soft enough to sleep in LOL and this print would give us nightmares
Not sure where to comment on general QVC stuff - I saw a new host yesterday as I was channel flipping. She was on with Mary Beth. Her name is Sam. She said she was a model on QVC in the UK. I didn’t listen long enough to hear if she was a host there or not, and I didn’t see her actually ‘hosting’ - but she has a nice accent. Skunks would be jealous
She was in Minnesota a few years ago for about a year working as a host for Evine/Shop HQ so she is not new at this.
It’s at https://forum.shoppingsnark.com/t/live-discussion/16. It just doesn’t have QVC in the title like the HSN discussion.
I wonder if @UglyBetty can edit that.
THANK YOU sooo much ! I knew there used to be a thread but I couldn’t find it. I scrolled down on it and turns out I somehow ‘muted’ it ! My fat fingers must have hit the wrong button (I read on my iPad). Thank you again
Fixed it! Thanks for pointing that out!
I finally had some time to dig into Qurate’s Q3 2024 earnings report. It was not good. Here are some general and category details for QxH (that’s QVC U.S. and HSN combined):
-
QxH revenue decreased 6%
-
6% decrease in units shipped
-
Average selling price ($51.76) was down 75 cents from Q2 2024
-
Return rate = 14.6% (was 15.9% for Q2 2024, and 15.4% for Q3 2023)
Product Category Performance:
Home (includes food) -3%
-lower demand for culinary and fitness products
Apparel -3%
-soft demand for fall fashion
Beauty -4%
-lower demand for bath, body and hair care products
Accessories -9%
-lower demand for footwear and handbags
Electronics -16%
-weaker computer sales
Jewelry -17%
-went from best category in Q2 to worst in Q3
Part 2 – Customer Counts
New customers up 7.7% year-over-year. That’s good! However…
- Total customer count down 3.3%
- Existing customer count down 9.3% (90% of sales come from existing customers).
2-year numbers look worse (2024 Q3-end vs. 2022 Q3-end numbers):
- New customers down 7.3%
- Existing customers down 21.4% (again: 90% of sales come from existing customers)
- Total customer count down 14.9%
They have just under 7.9 million customers as of the end of Q3 2024. For reference, they had almost 9.5 million customers at mid-year 2022.
Based on their current rates, they are losing roughly 7 customers for every 1 new customer they add.
Part 3 – Earnings Call Notes
Qurate executives mentioned more than once that TV viewership was down during Q3. They blamed news events such as the Olympics and election coverage for stealing viewers’ eyeballs during the period, which caused fewer sales.
I believe they have numerous problems with their programming, and “the Olympics” wouldn’t even make that top 10, but anyway…
They also discussed the NASDAQ delisting warning, and for the first time, acknowledged the need to take specific actions to avoid delisting, including a potential reverse stock split. That’s not a good sign.
They were asked a question about potential tariffs having an impact starting next year, and the CFO gave a Killinger-esque word salad response trying to downplay it. But, we all know most of the items they sell are “imported,” so regardless of how they describe the arrangements with suppliers, somewhere in that chain the increased costs are going to end up in higher Easy Pays, whether or not they are willing to admit it.
So Sorry … I know that I haven’t done my part this year or even last. I’ll try harder. In the meantime, if you need me for anything further, you can find me over yonder at Amazon.
I’m actually an outlier, as I’ve made 3 or 4 purchases in the 2nd half of this year, first since 2021 or 2022. They weren’t bad experiences, but its such a rarity to find V for Value on their site, I don’t expect it to be a trend for me. I actually just don’t buy “stuff” like I used to, anywhere.
I will be done with my EZ pays in February 2025. I have no plans to buy anything from the Q in the near future as anything I buy would be a want and not a need.
Since I don’t need anything from the Q that badly or can usually find for cheaper and faster delivery elsewhere, I wait for free shipping days to purchase from them and I will not pay more than $3.50 shipping if I can’t wait or just won’t buy it until free shipping days.
I have not bought anything in a long time
the Josie TSV wasn’t that tempting to me this time
and I could get some on eBay
the Shark dryer was a good deal
