Yes, @Emmie, you are 100% correct. There are, unfortunately, many women who do nothing but shop on QVC all day and buy things they have never opened, but believe they are friends with the hosts. It is so sad and QVC does fill that need for them. How many stories have we read about people who passed away and their relatives find rooms filled with boxes of ‘stuff’ just sitting there? A friend told me that before his mother passed, she was trying to punch in item numbers on her remote control and getting very upset that she couldn’t order things. But, there aren’t enough of them to get QVC out of the financial issues they have. I hope there are other options for those people who don’t have families.
During the phone call Did gravel then place her hand on her heart whilst making a faux cry face then look up to the heavens???
Question: are these new “designers” aware of the cliff the Q is about to fall from? Do TPTB that are hiring said new people with “new” products tell them that this will probably be a short selling experience? This seems like a very questionable move.
Some of these people were already selling products on the Q. And I would have to guess that their business managers would know the situation there. I don’t think they would make any deals where they’re stuck with unsold inventory. It would make more sense that they made deals for x number of units to be sold with x number of in person on-air presentations, presence on the website (and maybe TikTok or whatever other platform they’re using), and some promotion when they aren’t there in person. They’ve likely made all of the money they’re going to get upfront. I wouldn’t think that anyone other than a very few vendors would have any long-term or additional percentage earning deals in place.
I love the callers that say that her Gravel’s clothes along with her cured their chronic disease. UGH ! ! !
Maybe that’s another line of goods/services for the Gravel group: clothing, home goods, faith healing.
Yes, and then she’d say (with a catch in her voice) “I love you!” Or if the caller said it first, she’d say, “I love you back.” She knows how to appeal to her fans, and the fans keep on buying.
I have read that many of the vendors we know have left because they are owed a LOT of money from QVC, so the new contracts must be interesting.
HSN has yeeted a bunch of vendors, including Democracy, Jessica Simpson and of course the whole thing with Antthony.
Saw this in the program guide: “Pat’s Mother-of-the-Bride Must Haves” on May 10th.
I wonder if hosts get some sort of bonus when an aspect of their personal life is marketed and/or exploited?
Best Part: I bet Janie is fuming!
So Pat has to work on Mother’s Day. And, yes, I would guess that they get extra points for sharing their personal lives and posts when they are on vacation. That would get old if I was required to do that.
I bet Janie is fuming.
Ha, you KNOW she is (hee hee hee).
Maybe Q management will throw her a bone and let her host a Mother’s Day show, “Barware, Booze, Designer Bags & Other Gifts for Doting Moms to Bestow on Their Special Babies.” Half the show could be Blabs & Blabberinas doing nonstop tasting of wines from Mr. Wonderful and the other liquor purveyors.
I saw that. She came out afterwards with a jacket tied around her waist.
Of course, she is
Pat’s daughter is accomplished and is getting married vs Jane’s kids
Pat is not blabbing all the details on air to make her feel better about her poor parenting
am sure Kesternburg is in some kind of contract wth them and has no choice
Why do you think QVC dumped Jackie Morgan as the D&Co rep? The new person (great hair!) Lisa isn’t any more articulate about fashion than Jackie was. I swear that I heard her say something about being a stylist. Hard to imagine.
Lori G is a stylist, to the stars, even harder to imagine.
I wonder if they’re not paying vendors is the reason so many things are on clearance, “last chance,” “not coming back.” The vendors for those items won’t ship anything else until they get paid.
