What happens to the Easy pays people have and the automatic reorder plan.
Theyâre still planning on operating as usual during the reorg, so nothing will change there, but I bet weâll be seeing fewer things on 5 easy pays and more on 2.
I wish they would restructure in terms of some hosts.
I told you I wondered if they would be still around for Christmas in July in June this year. I also wonder how much Christmas stuff they have already ordered. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.
Maybe Kim, Graver and Slatkin can pull them out of this mess.
Maybe this is why Valerie was a little off the other night. The bulk of her sales happen during Christmas in July.
So if they do the 90 day restructuring period, what happens after that should they still not make it? I am not savvy in this⌠thank you.
During this time they are going through the courts and restructuring their debts, making payment plans, making a reorganization plan that will help them to (hopefully) move forward in a fiscally sustainable manner. Chapter 11 doesnât mean shutting the business down. This allows them to retain their assets and continue conducting business while all of this is going on. But right now, they have a fairly big debt to restructure and show that they can conduct themselves in a way that can make money.
Clearly they will have to make even more changes in terms of what and how they offer products for sale. And how they run pretty much everything.
Thanks for clear explanation. ![]()
how will it affect employeesâŚvendors. Did they offer pension?, probably not, but hope that those close to retiring will be okay.
I cannot imagine that employees wonât be impacted in some way. We tend to think about the employees who are on air, but they are vastly outnumbered by all of the others who do everything from technical and warehouse jobs to management. And my guess is that they will have more in-house offerings and more shorter term offerings from other companies/brands.
But who knows how this will all play out?
So just a running thought with the billions in debt they are of the lenders donât feel that the restructuring plan is a viable option and choose to call the loan.. then what?
Oh and thank you for the insight!!!
maybe Christmas in one week of July
My question ⌠how do they plan on attracting a client base that will sustain them through bankruptcy, and turn a profit? The few that still shop are probably using their QCard, and carrying a sizeable balance on their card that they might never pay off in the near future. Everyone else has discovered alternative shopping at other sites with great quality, great prices, great customer service, and free or flat rate shipping. And the joy of Ebay, thrifting, estate sales, garage sales, etc, that some have only recently discovered. In their arrogance, the Q has wasted far too much time not taking this seriously, but more importantly, why would former customers trust them enough to come back to the same old, same old? ⌠And not to mention all the money they have been saving!
shipping: been watching for years and they canât figure out how to implement a shopping cart
all the business that have not moved with the times are history, Sears, BBB are recent examples
@CantDance I wish they could conduct themselves in a more appropriate matter, like adults. No Menopause Monday, not one vagina at a time.
I wish the same thing.
Would it make any difference financially to get rid of Q2 and Q3 ? They could cut back on some hosts.
Part of the restructuring will involved downsizing, selling assets and management reorganization. So whoâs likely to be downsized? They need the on-air hosts to keep selling. Maybe not as many, but it seems most of the downsizing will be done to the behind the scenes staff, from the studio, to the office, to the warehouses. How will that impact their ability to maintain efficiency, when itâs not that great as it is now. Tough decisions ahead â choose between keeping QVC or HSN?
