QVC Live Discussion (Part 1)

Also, her dotty old self must rack up the sales, because the other question I have is WHY would they ask her to stay seven months longer than she intended when she has to be one of the highest paid hosts and they seem to love firing them?

I’m assuming Diva heard about MBR’s deal, called TPTB an hour later and told them he wants to retire at 60 and is now waiting for his MY GOD DON’T LEAVE US offer.

I just had to comment on this OAP’s hair accessory because I felt like I’d been transported back in time.

Even Rick commented at the end about her great hair band she was wearing. I don’t think she realized he was playfully mocking it.

FYI, that’s a great ladder. I have the 4-step one.

The praise and devotion being heaped upon Mary Beth at the Q forum is nauseating with syrupy sweetness.

You would think that Saint Mary Beth walked on water. Well, maybe she does.

It’s going to be a long, slushy, blubbery slog till March.

are they that desparate for hosts to have her stay on that long after she made the decision, or is she that money hungry

here’s a disconnect for you
over on Q forums they removed the discussion about how overly religious the jewely show with KL was ā€œbecause is it about religionā€ the whole show was the 2 of them talking about Satan.

The whole thing is just bizarre.

Why did the Q ask her to stay on when, as others have said, she probably makes a HUGE salary and they are looking for ways to trim the fat, so to speak?

Does she really sell that much, or is she just invaluable because she trains the new hosts?

And why announce it now, just because of ā€œspeculation?ā€ So what if people talk? Isn’t that the sort of publicity the Q is known for wanting?

i read she doesn’t mentor the hosts now, but because I read it, doesn’t mean anything
and if she does, she needs to do a better job

I also very much doubt that she trains or mentors anyone new. That probably stopped about 5 years ago.

Her selling style and personality is much too old school and outdated. To me, it’s stale and archaic, like rummaging through a mail order catalog. She’s there to appeal to a very aging customer base, many of whom watch, but probably don’t buy a thing. That’s the QVC and Mary Beth keep me company crowd.

And there’s the assumption that Q (in its current form) will last until March!

If that is true, then I’m completely bewildered as to why QVC would ask Marybeth to stay on. It’s actually a little alarming if they feel they need Marybeth to hold things together there.

good point, I question what kind of business decision that could be for a struggling company

There’s another explanation for why Q might want Mary Beth around until March. If they’re planning a host purge or shakeup they would want to make sure to keep the more low key, established hosts on air until the dust settles.

If a purge is coming, I’d hope it would include the unwatchables: JenCon, Kerskank and Blabs.

Oh yeah, Diva too.

If you look at video of Mary Beth from 35+ years ago her personality and ā€œnice mannersā€ calmer selling style hasn’t changed. That appeals to her older fans and it must translate to some kind of decent revenue since baby boomers are still a substantial consumer spending group.

March 2025 seems like such a random date (I read on the motherboard it’ll be March 21st, who knows).
I wonder if TPTB asked her to stay for one more year, she said no, and they countered by offering to pay her with benefits through August 2025 while she gets to leave in March. Just speculation!

I never cared for Leah until I had an interest in finding a tote so started watching a lot of presentations of various styles. Leah is one of the very few hosts (Pat, too, Amy is mostly dependable), who ALWAYS discusses dimensions and provides tours. I don’t think that is much to ask when your job is selling products, but Skunk and most of the other ā€œfashionā€ hosts get around to those details if they think of it but prefer discussing how cute and ā€œmoneyā€ things look, along with reminding us they are bffs with all the designers.

David is on Q2 this Friday afternoon and was presenting with Nancy for Northern Nights. He looked straight at her as he said, ā€œNN has been with QVC for over 30 years. They predate me by only a few months. It’s hard to believe anybody has been here longer than me, I know.ā€

Hello Diva? Did you forget Mary Beth, Pat, Jane, and Rick (only a year behind)?

Once again he’s forgetting that Nancy was once let go from the very place he jokingly bemoans how long he’s worked at. Yes, she’s graciously moved on to another role but he could use a little more sensitivity and consideration.

I saw him ā€œsalutingā€ Jen on her wedding-cation
he looks not healthy :frowning:

Jen and MBR’s departures must leave some kind of Host Deathmatch contest to see who can rise and fill in those spots

Another example of what a Bitch La Diva really is:

Susie Prepology is presenting an avocado tool kit.

Diva to Susie: Do you know how to keep avocado from turning brown?

Susie: (flustered and taken off guard) No, I don’t.

Diva: Well, I’ll tell you. (And goes on to lecture her.)

I felt bad for her because he threw that at her deliberately so he could take over.

Bitchy.
