QVC Live Discussion (Part 1)

I have been waiting almost 3 weeks for a Dyson I ordered with “free ship”. The tracking info shows it has been Ontario CA for almost all of that time. I called the Q Customer Service to ask about it, and had the option to have them call me instead of waiting on line. They called back, and then cut me off. I called again, and this time I just waited. The Rep was very, very nice, and said she would have a new one sent out on free 2 day express. That was last Wednesday (today is Monday), and, according to my account, they are still “preparing the order”. Not sure what I will do next. The QVC price really was much less than I could find anywhere else, and this “pack up” included a charging floor stand, which I want. I have only hard floors, and I really like the Dyson. It cleans very well, and the Q must have purchased an entire warehouse to be able to sell at this price. But I am very unhappy with the shipping and delivery.

You must mean Monifa, of ‘surplus top’ (surplice) fame.

The items I had to wait an inordinate amount of time on were also from the Ontario warehouse, so perhaps they have big problems there that they haven’t addressed.

This might be a blessing in disguise @CalicoKitty I honestly question these name brands and if they’re the actual models you buy in the store or not.

For years, there has been that story out there how the formula for Wen sold in “stores with doors” (i.e. Sephora) is different from the one on the Q and the Q formulation was the one listed in the class action suit against Chaz Dean for people experiencing excessive hair loss. My coworker ordered hers from the Q. Our office is in a building attached to a mall with a Sephora so she brought the bottle in and we went into Sephora and compared the ingredients (same exact scent) and sure enough - BOOM - different ingredients.

I bought a Dyson TSV several years ago, used it once. Covid hit and I had to care for my ill mother so I wasn’t home a lot. Tried to use it a second time and it NEVER WORKED. Won’t charge. Nothing. Unfortunately, time passed and couldn’t return it but that made me question the products they sell. Even my Vitamix seems to be displaying questionable performance. I literally use it only about 2-3 times per week to make a smoothie and most of the time, the blade can’t even break up half a frozen banana.

I have heard that about shoes on the Q, also. Some people find the quality and fit are different than the “same shoe” in a store. I personally have had good luck over the years with big brands like KitchenAide and Dyson, but I would never buy a model “made for QVC” from big name brands. I know for a fact that the Sleep Number bed they used to see on the Q was a specially made model that was a low end model. I will probably check the order status in a couple of days, and if it still has not shipped I will cancel the order. Customer Service for the Q is almost nonexistent any more.

I find it interesting that there are no clearance shows for the product line that is dominating the airwaves the Kim Gravel clothing line. I guess they feel it’s popular enough that they can charge ridiculous prices for last year’s crap too.

I also have some OLDer Lori tops that I rally like all by themselves, not all of them together, so we’re in the same boat. Her newer stuff is, indeed, crazy bag lady clothes.

There are a couple of posts about the Ontario warehouse experiencing serious delays and issues on the other site. I think it is great that customer service is at least sending out replacements. Of course, what will they expect you to do if the original one shows up?

That’s exactly what I said to my husband. Come on whoever wants your identity and information has it already from the internet. This thing they are selling is a dinosaur.

I just learned something from our resident quirky fashionista (skunky) : this sleeve is elbow adjacent”. She’s just so damned cute isn’t she? Not. Between the horrendous lack of manicure and the atrocious hair why would anyone buy anything from her?

Exactly right! They have rebranded themselves as hackers nowadays lol It truly is and can only work for so long.

I was told to return the first order if it happens to show up. I’m wondering if either order will show up.

It is not just thre Dyson or appliances that are not the same as what you buy in a store. Cosmetics too. IT CC cream, different packaging frim what the Q sells. …and how can the Calista body wave hair styler (new) be only $24.90 on E-Bay, and it’s $79 on the Q.

I think with the Calista stuff, it’s just discontinued colors. That Bodywaver I got on eBay is a really nice dark teal, which is not currently on QVC.

the ebay stuff is colors that didn’t sell, probably (which is one reason they need to stop with 10 colors)
I did look at what is available in pallets they sell and there is current merch which ends up on ebay etc

they have too much inventory that isn’t selling

Ooh, she used a big word ! Adjacent ! At least when Diva uses a big word he tells you what it means. Repeatedly. Did you know ambient means room temperature ?

I haven’t heard Skunky say lucrative in quite a while. Hopefully she’s given that one up. Or maybe she realized she’s been using it wrong.
