Here in Chicago, it’s Pączki Day! We have quite a large Polish population, including me. Well, half of me LOL
Shown are cream filled pączki. At the bakery we’d of course get a variety. My favorite is traditional prune!

My Dad was Lithuanian and we always had “the Polish Donuts” on Ash Wednesday and on Sunday Mornings after Mass during Lent. We were even allowed a cup of coffee on Sunday! And, just in case you’re wondering, they were always the perfect compliment to Spaghetti Sunday Dinner.
