More news following up on Qurate’s earnings report: last week at the annual Qurate investor meeting, they announced that starting in Q1 2025, the company will now be known as “QVC Group.”
They also will begin a new strategic plan focused on becoming a live social shopping company, moving into selling on livestreams, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and affiliate sites.
The stock market was unimpressed…today their common stock closed at $0.40 per share.
In 2026, QVC will be known as the Q WHO COMMUNITY.

I channel surf past it often [I quit watching regularly or buying anything] and QVC is clearly clueless. They had a male selling women’s jewelry and later they were selling space heaters. lol. Keep those old bones warm and toasty. lol. The youthfulness and vibrant flow of QVC is long gone.
I was wondering if the OAP has made QVC so much more difficult to watch. For example, what can the OAP tell us about salmon, socks, or a pair of scissors that the host or viewing audience hasn’t already grasped. I was imagining the host saying, “this shirt is made of 90% polyester, 10% spandex, comes in these colors, and looks like this on the models who are wearing these sizes. Next…” I understand new or complicated items may need and OAP to explain, but for most items the OAP just adds to the length of presentation without adding any value.
My husband cracked me up yesterday. He wanted to know if Josie and her ‘‘jugs’’ were ever on anymore. lol.
I am still a good QVC customer. I buy every month. I bought the laptop last week because my current laptop is getting old and slow and I wanted to avoid the tariff increases. It was a good deal for me.
However, I buy far less than I used to. I plan to buy even less going forward. With the tariffs coming and I expect higher prices across the board, I will have to cut somewhere. Plus, I want to retire in 3 years, so I don’t need to keep buying clothes, shoes or bags for work. I have more than enough to last for years.
If QVC were to get rid of the channels, I think they would be done. I think most customers are like me — we buy when we see the stuff on TV. I rarely think, I need such and such, let me search QVC to see if they have it. I do my QVC shopping when I am watching.

QVC is about the least “woke” company around. Until recently, they wouldn’t even allow hosts to be openly gay for fear of alienating their core audience of bigots whose children don’t call for obvious reasons.
And on the Roberta’s presentation last weekend, Amy kept referring to a trans OAP by their wrong name and gender.
They’ve got a longgg way to go before being categorized as “woke.” 
What’s next, they are so black…I like a few black people, but it’s becoming overwhelming.

Shouldn’t have brought up trump, this place is my escape from the shit show we are living. The word “woke” triggers me as it is meant to be derogatory and is the anthem of the maga world. Caring about all people — regardless of their race, religion, ability, sexual orientation, etc. shouldn’t be a bad thing.
