The Good, The Bad, and The Skunky

Oozing ? How does QVC think this will sell product ? I guess a possible benefit for us is if her on air hours are reduced because she’s doing the podcast. :crossed_fingers:

Because once again!!! … she is nothing but a disgusting, filthy, low-life, classless PIG

While we are daring to be true Skunky why don’t you share why you are no longer a tv newscaster. What happened to make you leave? You will never be a Barbara Walters. You are a tv sales clerk and a classless one at that. Inquiring minds want to know.

:speak_no_evil: Wiping her snotty nose on her sleeve during a live newscast?

I’m sure there were reasons why she was fired by Martha Stewart on TV (I’m drawing a blank on the title of the show). I did not watch when she was on.

Very interesting, especially since I never watched that show. She was quite pretty imo. But I think her arrogance, for one thing, did her in.

Wow, Martha had her number!

I remember this episode well and watched it live. I did not know Skunky at the time, obviously, but she annoyed me, even then and I was glad to see her go. And really, how did she not know Martha Stewart wouldn’t go for that “fake it til you make it” nonsense? Even back then, Martha was a notorious perfectionist.

What an eye-opener! It’s really satisfying to see her taken down a few pegs, even if it was a bit far into the past. She really was really arrogant there and it came back to bite her hard.
In another comment, someone said she was quite pretty. I said the same the other day. I would submit that even now she is still physically attractive but is making herself ugly. The ugly part being lack of hygiene, seemingly not caring about what she looks like (on TV even!) - also the stupid looking glasses. Smacks of low self esteem.

Besides Shawn, wow, what a godawful show. I’m glad I never watched it. And their “project manager” is very punchable.

:person_shrugging: Who in their right mind tells a potential employer that one of her life philosophies is Fake It Till You Make It?

“In their right mind” being the operative phrase. Let’s not forget who we’re talking about!

I so remember this series - Celebrity Apprentice. Of course, I did not know Shawn. And it was interesting to also see Bethany Frankel was on that show. I never liked her or her attitude. And, I guess I still don’t know why Martha was so appalled at the, “Fake it 'til you make it.” slogan. I totally understand what she was saying - you do what you are supposed to do until you are comfortable doing it. Shawn was very pretty then.

ETA - I wonder if she still has that letter?

That clip is nuts. And Skunk fell up and learned NOTHING. Isn’t she still slinging “Fake it till you make it”?

Fake it till you make it sounds like something a con would say. Nothing like lying to yourself.

Size XS and/or 2 never looked so big. Damn she’s looking really schlumpy and lumpy. The string hair doesn’t help.

I always interpreted “Fake It Till You Make It” to mean pretend you are something you are not for as long as you can.

She’s still doing that, as far as I’m concerned: beauty expert, fashion and style maven, talk show host…

I guess I am in the minority, but I always interpreted it as doing the behavior you need to do, even if you don’t feel comfortable doing it yet, until you eventually do. I always think of it in terms of jobs and not any nefarious way.

YES !!! She’s still a LOSER!

I think your interpretation is the most widely accepted version.

And it’s practical and applicable for most people. Just not Martha Stewart, and since the biggest part of one’s “performance” at a job interview means being prepared and knowledgeable about the brand one is interviewing for, including the namesake of said brand, I would say Skunky was seriously, grievously unprepared. Her devil-may-care, casual attitude just wasn’t going to ever gel with Martha’s iconic meticulousness.

One glance between the pages of Martha’s magazine should have more than prepared Skunky, but she chose to charge forward in her usual messy, chaotic, disorganized dysfunction, and got her just desserts. If I’m not mistaken, she was the first one to get fired.
