QVC Live Discussion

Love the imagery in that film. I am also loving way too much of the MacKenzie Childs stuff lately.

This is the second QVC host who has told an OAP they have never heard of a dough bowl and do not know what it is. IT’S KIND OF SELF-EXPLANATORY.

Thankfully Janine Graff seems familiar with her merchandise. As I recall Lauren McBride was really struggling when the host asked her for an explanation.

I laughed when Mary Beth said she never heard of a dough bowl.

I would think it was standard issue equipment out on the prairies of Minnesota.

Janine was pretty shocked.

I’m sorry, but Marybeth is cringe. She’s on now with Janine Graff, with her, “here’s the thing” and “etcs”. Retirement can’t come soon enough.

I like some of the MacKenzie-Childs stuff. I think a little goes a long way.

Whatever happened to that humongous moose head they had ? Years ago, way before they came to QVC. Wasn’t that like $ 57,000 or something ? 🫎

Janine actually said “chic Edgar Allan Poe moment”. I didn’t know that was a thing.

The ravens look like the crows April made Ron buy for her at Food n Stuff. They sold out.

:person_in_steamy_room:t2: Mary Beth is like an annoying, boring, condescending combination of a school marm and a Sunday School teacher.

Her exaggerated enunciation of every word and every letter drives me crazy, talking down to us as though we were the bimbos.

:person_gesturing_ok:t2: There, I said it. And I’m not sorry.

And yes … I DO feel better!

You know that fall is coming when the Maude vests start making appearances. :notes:And then there’s Maude:notes:. God will get you for that, Susan!

:athletic_shoe: Are those new shoes?

You know what that means … we’ll be looking at those nonstop every day for the next 6-8 week, or until she twists her ankle struggling to keep them on her feet.

Graver is really caught in a time warp with her “new” designs. Right up there with Ms. Mizrahi, both channeling Alfred Dunner Designs.

Right on Maude indeed! She could rock a long vest! And would have no patience for not- groovy Graver.

Sorry, back to OAPs…does anyone remember the Clark’s guy, Steve? This was way back before Amy O. He was goofy but kind of funny. For some reason, I remember him making a comment about how Jane was different off-air, implying that she was kind of a drill Sargent and not so nicey-nice. And I remember she scared the crap out of the Fly London guy on his first show. Told him she knew shoes and how to sell them (paraphrasing).

How tall is Graver? Does this come in lengths? Does she know what she is doing when she “designs” these items? I predict this item will not be a big seller. I hope they didn’t order very many.

I really liked Clarks’ guy Steve! He did have a sly humor. People thought Patti Reilly was flirting with him all the time. I don’t recall him flirting back.

I remember that too! She’d get all giggly. I think he was a little smitten with Lisa. They’d have a fun banter.

That long vest is going to get caught in the car door.

I like a few of the McKenzie Childs items, like the pumpkins, but everything is priced 4 times what it should be imo. The witch hand candlesticks look like “Thing” from The Addams Family. Very creepy.

I’ve really been enjoying Valerie Parr Hill’s fall shows, especially with Rick hosting. He had a good time saying the show was “Rick or Treat”.

I agree about the Val and Rick shows! Always fun and entertaining.

I laugh when she calls the decorative picks “Rick Sticks.”

Oh, Val! You naughty, naughty girl!

I’ll admit that I enjoyed the autumn presentation shows yesterday. I just had to lower the volume when Blabby was on. I’m always tempted when Harry Slatkin has his candles on, but my willpower prevails when I remind myself how overwhelmed my condo becomes from the scent of his candles. It becomes too much. I was disappointed to see that the McKenzie Childs pumpkins were resin. Although they looked lovely, they were a bit pricey.
