QVC Live Discussion (Part 2)

   When Alberti was on yesterday, he mentioned that he spent $11 on a birthday card for his Dad’s 70th birthday. My Dad was a Three Musketeers candy bar guy, and if I had ever spent $11 on a card for his 70th birthday , he would have asked me if I realized how many Three Musketeers bars I could have bought for $11. Yes indeed :two_hearts: Sweet Memories.

That’s Alberti’s schtick. He’s always going on and on about how much greeting cards are.

I was once into crafting and bought all these card-making kits and supplies. My friend asked me when he was going to get his $200 card! He actually wasn’t wrong, and it STILL looked home-made. I ended up donating that stuff and my scrapbooking supplies to a senior home and they were thrilled.

Just saw this on Facebook. I remember watching the Christmas cookie baking segment Rick did with his sons when they were little boys. Time flies !

This is the Dubai chocolate that our grocery store has. Now only $ 11 for 200 grams. Made in Turkey.

I am very allergic to wheat, so I don’t eat deserts, but I also do not really like chocolate. I have not had a candy bar in years. I also really dislike coffee, and don’t understand how anyone can drink it. Years ago I had a pastor ask me jokingly how I could be a good Lutheran and not drink coffee or beer. Wheat allergy takes care of the beer, and I just really do not like coffee, coffee flavor, or coffee smell. I have purchased the Russel Stover Christmas tins from the Q for past several years to give at Christmas, and they have always been appreciated. I ordered this year’s tins, and somehow my PayPal was charged $0.01. Not sure what happened, but the Q cannot afford to be making mistakes like this. I think they need a deep audit.

   I’m still waiting for the return of the Harry London Five Pound Tin of assorted, individually wrapped chocolates. Sadly, they will probably never be back :sob: . . . . . . . .

:face_with_hand_over_mouth: :face_with_hand_over_mouth: :face_with_hand_over_mouth: I can’t recall if I’ve ever tried the Cookies & Cream bars, but I’m going to buy one and see if it tastes familiar. I can’t imagine a world without chocolate and donuts!

Beware, they’re very addicting! It doesn’t taste like white chocolate FYI.

Wow, I’m surprised they got Martha to show up for a midnight TSV! I know she’s dealing with some pain, but it would be nice for QVC to let at least one other host or model sit with her. It looks out of place otherwise. Seeing a model sitting would help determine fit too.

I saw that Martha is balancing on the edge of that stool. I think she had an ACL or something other ortho issue
She should have a better seat and Leah should be sitting as well, we forget she is in her 80s

Can anyone explain to me what is going on with Kathy Gendel’s face? (The Breezies lady). She was on air with Leah this morning and had on less makeup than she typically wears, but she still looks “unwell.”

:zipper_mouth_face: :zipper_mouth_face: :zipper_mouth_face: Ms. Gendel obviously is not embracing QVC’s “Over Fifty & Fabulous” lifestyle. She doesn’t look as though she’s ever had a regular skincare routine, and the long, straight hair, bare forehead , and tight clothes don’t flatter and fit. Dressing like a twenty something isn’t going to make you look like a twenty something year old, it just calls attention to the very things we’d prefer to camouflage. A great haircut, softer color, and style, casual/chic clothing, and a lighter touch with makeup can go a long way.

That is true! But it’s not as if she doesn’t have the access or resources to get facials and treatments at a dermatologist’s office. And have someone give her makeup lessons that would work for a woman her age. Do you think she thinks she looks good the way she is?

She needs more than a dermatologist

….She (Kathy) is at least 70 years old. Some people age “better” than others. Maybe she just doesn’t want to, (or can’t) have fillers, Botox, and/or invasive procedures to look younger. I think her face has aged as normally as most women’s did before these procedures were so readily available. I don’t think she looks unwell, just aging naturally.

I don’t think she needs Botox or any kind of invasive treatments. I’m 71 and I’ve only ever had a laser peel. But she needs some intensive peeling and a better skin care routine. Her skin looks like a potato chip. And she needs to tone down the makeup.

Her forehead is much smoother than her cheek area, so I suspect she has at least dipped her toes (so to speak) in ‘improvements’. She needs a makeup pro to tell her to forget the heavy blush/bronzer, which is just emphasizing her sagging cheeks and eyebags, and to say no to lower lid liner, which makes her eyes look small and slitty(is that a word?).
