I have some Home Reflections candles, and I find that the battery life is very good.
Stumbled on McKensie Childâs painted pumpkins last night on the Q. Ugly and who would be paying $150.
On the Q Forum there are a number of posters devoted to the line and list everything they bought! Could be total BS, who knows.
I love how Shawn said that the pumpkins were manufactured at the McKenzie-Childs studio in upstate New York, but she was quickly corrected by the OAP saying they were manufactured in one of the factories overseas (probably China)!
Skunky was being intrusive as well as over-sharing her self-perceived quirkiness with the MC OAP who didnât really seem interested. The OAP said she lived 35 miles from Aurora and the MC house upstate NY. As if she lived right next door! Please.
I find MCâs backstory kind of underwhelming (and overrated). They had the right connections to invest in their brand and make them a success. Not many artists get that lucky. And their fans are welcomed to tour their home in Aurora, NY too.
I think that there are people out there who collect the MC brand items. IMO, the MC ethic is repetitive and no longer novel. They havenât grown in their approach to styling the ceramic pieces. And they definitely benefited from this manufactured aura of being âspecialâ and bespoke. Kind of like Barefoot Dreams.
The first time I became aware of the MC line was when I saw it on a display at Neiman Marcus several years ago. I thought OK, another overpriced novelty that I walked past without another thought.
Now to see it on QVC makes me think it has passed its prime but no one has told the people who set the prices. I guess easy pay now makes it accessible to those who wouldnât/couldnât get it at Neimanâs years ago?
Evine sold MC for quite a while, which is where I first learned of it. I watched some of the shows, more in fascination, because the hosts were so into it and were collectors too. Women would call in, talking about their collections and theyâd all get excited. There is a following!
I also liked the perky, quirky OAP for the line. Not sure if she still reps it on QVC.
remember seeing the line in NY years ago it was different and fun
not so much now
I became familiar with them when I lived in NYC in the 90s. They had a store there. Not sure if they still do. They used to have really nice birthday cake candles which I purchased several time.
I first saw them in a home decor catalog and fell in love immediately. However, the price was too high and I could never see completely decorating with the line. That would be too much, but a piece or two would be lovely. I guess itâs the same as when people buy a complete line of Le Cruset. They are beautiful, but how many pots does one family need at that price? But, it appears that many people collect them, too.
As a self proclaimed Certified Health & Wellness Coach, I recommend seasonal vegetables whenever available.
Went to QVCs site earlier and there was Carolyn Gracie on the lower left hand corner of my screen doing a chat. YOU DONâT WORK THERE ANYMORE! The level of self-importance is astounding.
OMG you could go to Dollar Tree, get flameless candles and paint a checkerboard on them. Guaranteed these candles are made in the same factory in China that alllllll the flameless candles are made in.
Barefoot Dreams is on with a $125 top and $145 pants. $270 for the set. Crazy, nothing special about it.
I just donât get the appeal. Why do people want to spend that kind of money for something they could easily get for 1/2 the price?
PLW has to be the most hideous clothing line I have ever seen.
Sandra Bennett has gotten to be one of the most irritating and obnoxious hosts currently on QVC. She constantly interrupts the OAPâs, talks nonstop (loudly!), and has super-charged her hard sell tactics.
