Stacey Rusch on Real Housewives of Potomac

   As someone who has lost a brother, cousins, and a friend to drunk driving, this doesn’t sit well with me. Of course, she’ll get a pass, she’s a “Star.” Some people just float through life without any accountability for their actions, only to turn around and do it all over again.

So sorry you have had to endure that pain.

You know I’m just being an azzhat but if you got to get silly drunk, just call a taxi, Uber, a friend, anyone to come get you or sit in your recliner and get drunk all you want. I remember when i was 19 i got inebriated and I drove about a block, realized i couldn’t see straight and pulled over, parked the car and slept if off. I remembered that I hoped a cop or a serial killer wouldn’t find me but I knew I was in a dangerous state and i wouldn’t make it home. That was way before cell phones were so handy.

Spoiler Alert

I watched Part 3 of the reunion, and it was GOOD!

Part 2 ended on TJ’s FaceTime call to Wendy’s husband while he was backstage at the reunion. During the call, TJ said he wasn’t invited to the reunion and wouldn’t have gone anyway because the show is fake. (i.e., he didn’t like how he came across on camera)

He then says Stacey paid him to play her boyfriend. Back on the reunion couch, Andy begins asking about this. Stacey appears more hurt than anything and says she lost her best friend tonight. She says she didn’t pay him to play her boyfriend. The other ladies ask if she paid his expenses to appear on the show, and I don’t think we got a straight answer. I suspect she paid some of his expenses, which seems totally reasonable seeing as the husbands/boyfriends usually aren’t paid by Bravo.

In my opinion and as evidenced by the show, TJ is a deeply closeted narcissist who uses religion as a weapon. He’s upset by the audience response because he hoped to use Housewives as a way to achieve the fame he so obviously craves. He only called in during the reunion to elicit a response from Stacey, and assumed she would call him back for more screen time. I think Stacey knows he’s nothing more than a user, and she therefore declined any further on-camera discussion with him. Wise choice. I never want to see TJ again.

Pivoting to Karen’s DUI. First off, this was filmed after her conviction but before sentencing. They all agreed she is an idiot for taking this to trial and should have taken the plea. Apparently she could have served 6 months of house arrest and she turned it down. Insane.

Several of the women brought up conversations they had with employees at local restaurants, all of whom said Karen is a regular customer. Apparently Karen would visit the bar at Legal Seafood almost every day and get “day drunk.” The women all agree she has a problem and it’s been an issue for years, especially if restaurant staff remember her for being a drunk.

Next, there is an obviously staged video in which Karen pretends to take accountability for the car crash… and then blames anti-depressants again. Her husband is a yes man, he just repeats what she wants to hear. She says she recently increased the dose of her anti-depressant and had a glass of champagne before driving that night. As you can tell by the bodycam, that’s a lie. No way did she have “one glass” of champagne.

Also, how many people are self medicating by altering the dose of their SSRI prescriptions? That doesn’t even make sense. I suspect she was self medicating with benzos like Xanax or Valium. Even so, she had to take a BIG dose and drink a LOT of booze to get THAT wasted. There’s no excuse.

The episode wrapped up and Karen’s sentencing was mentioned “after this reunion, Karen was sentenced to xyz.” I heard they begin filming the next season in a few weeks. The actual season was boring and uncomfortable, but the reunion was great, and I think Stacey is going to be the main player next season. This is a much better fit than QVC.

By the way, here’s one example of Stacey’s TJ-related expenses… :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: I rarely ever watched Stacey when she was at the Q. Did she have that giant set of cantaloupes when she worked here?

Yes, they were just obscured by jailhouse-inspired polyester.

They’re both revealing too much chest!

From a female perspective, I find this overexposure of one’s breasts to be the opposite of sexy. My mother always said, “you need to leave a little to the imagination.” I would like to hear from the men on this.

Maybe her unfortunate incarceration (:trade_mark: Anthony Bouvier) will give her the opportunity to grow into those teeth. :grimacing:

It’s sad how many people become addicted to alcohol and/or drugs because they have mental health issues and users do, from what I have read and heard, alter their perscription amounts and use street drugs or drink. Regardless, it sounds like it’s possibly good for her to have waved off the plea bargain because now she can change if she decides she wants without her normal MO and social scene around. Who knows. I think, or the cynic in me thinks, she was NOT encouraged by anyone on production staff because it gave them more drama (to take a plea). But maybe that’s just me. As for TJ, where is the self esteem? And he couldn’t even fulfill his bargain. It’s all scripted but it’s also hard for someone’s real character (or lack of) to come through.

Here’s what she had to say about TJ’s behavior at the reunion…

Well, ole Teej hasn’t produced any receipts, so I believe Stacey. I think she was blindsided at the reunion.

I wonder if Andy Cohen would legitimately help someone in need or if its good ratings for him and Bravo.

Anyone, correct me if needed, but despite the many, many, many examples of Bravo castmembers in crisis of one sort or another, I can’t recall any examples of Bravo stepping in and shutting it down, God forbid facilitating any sort of intervention or rehabilitation. I personally think that Andy Cohen is evil- adjacent, though I know he isn’t at the top of the Bravo flowchart.

Andy Cohen is a grifter, from my perspective. He found the absolute perfect lane for it and has worked it to his benefit. Also, being a grifter is no longer a minority status. See nearly every QVC sales clerk (“host” - I hate that they are called hosts, and refuse to mis-label them), particularly the Con sisters. See also every high-level politician from either major party.
