Shop HQ Live Discussion

Things that make you go “hmmm”. ShopHQ blasted that it was the “All Free Shipping, All Items, All the Time” Shopping Channel. Guess what? Finally watching an At Home w/ Jorge (Perez) Holiday Kickoff show. The Free Shipping now applies to orders or items over $75. Hmmm!

Former ShopHQ host Shawn Wilsie’s latest podcast episode just dropped on YouTube. ShopHQ ceasing TV operations by the end of the month.

Surprised they hung on this long on air TBH. Every month for the past 12-13 years always seemed it would be their last. Curious to see how this works out for them and I imagine Q/HSN will be closely watching too…

Gems En Vogue with Michael Valitutti will be going to JTV in March… I am not surprised as there was really nowhere else to go.

Figured he’d end up there or ShopLC (which I suppose will be his next stop if this doesn’t work out). His brief jump from ShopHQ to HSN years back and then back to Shop for a hot minute before disappearing from air was bizarre. I know he later apologized to customers in a social media post but basically pointed the blame at ShopHQ; other commenters said they had received some of his pieces and the quality was not good. So who knows what that whole thing was about.

Separately, it seems Melissa Miner is one of the hosts (or the host) who is being let go in a couple weeks. She had a Stefano Oro show last night and told him that was probably her last show with him. She was also reminiscing about her 20 years w/ the network and brought out one of the crew members and said how much she enjoyed working with them. I think if she decides to remain in the biz, she’d be an excellent rep for one of the jewelry vendors at another network.

GEV left HQ a few uears back because of money issues. Ir was during covid and he did several videos. He was not happy at all at HSN where he went, went back to HQ, calling it his years old home, like he never left, dissing HSN and that went downhill fast. He said they would not let him say good bye before he left this time. Now he thinks JTV will be the answer to his prayers but I have heard and experienced pros and cons with them too. Melissa’s husband was working for HQ also, not sure if he is still there. I would not be surprised if the Miners left MN as she is not too fond of the cold weather, at least she used to say that.

The website is still up and they appear to be selling stuff.

It’s off my cable, but the website is up and selling. That may work for me. I never liked the Saturday morning fashion hosts, but some of the clothes were good with decent prices.

A post from the Invicta guy Ryan.
As many of you know, ShopHQ closed its doors permanently yesterday. ShopHQ is where I started my TV career in 2006 and also introduced to Invicta. All of the experiences at ShopHQ are unforgettable, but even more important are the people that I worked with over the years at the network that I now call my friends. I wish all that were blindsided yesterday and also all that were let go at the end of February only the best in their next chapter because that is what they deserve. I briefly went though some photos from the network with some of the great people I got to work alongside/with and there are many more that aren’t pictured, but thought you’d enjoy. Give the photos some likes!
There are a number of you that don’t know, but I left the network back in August (which was really difficult for me for many, many reasons) and since, I’ve been presenting Invicta on JTV. Be sure to follow me for what I have coming up on JTV and for other things I have coming up in due time.

Now I’m guessing that they shut down and haven’t pulled the plug on the website because it’s a holiday? So weird.

For a long time, I referred to ShopHQ as the Invicta network. Wayyyyyy too much.

Yeah, I stopped watching when it was big ugly watches all the time. I LOVED The Closeout - I got some really good bargains.
