You are very wise getting a corded vacuum…many years ago I purchased a battery powered Dyson and now the thing is sitting in the closet as dead as can be waiting for me to figure out how to replace it…never again !!!

My Dyson V10 battery eventually died. I bought a replacement battery off of Amazon and it’s working good as new.

Cordless vacuums only make sense in pet-free child-free studio apartments. The canister is so small!
I’m actually looking for a corded vacuum that’s good with pet hair and carpeting, preferably NOT a Shark. I’ve had a Shark Navigator Lift-Away for less than 5 years and it’s already lost suction and makes odd noises. We’ve taken it apart to check for clogs and have been diligent about filter replacements, but it seems like the motor is going.
This is the second Shark vacuum that’s lasted under 5 years. The first was a Professional Lift-Away.
Unfortunately, I love the features of the Shark.
Is 5 years the average lifespan for a vacuum now? Any recommendations?

While most of the time I don’t mind listening to PJD, she mostly speaks in about 7-8 stock phrases. She says something like “the important thing” or something like that about everything. I think that almost all of the hosts do the same thing. Monifa certainly does. Jane (and Jayne) both do. Monifa even started started singing that “pockets” song during Denim &Co and now Renee/Ashley and others do it too. David mostly speaks in stock phrases, but I would not be surprised to find out that he has autism. And most of the reps also repeat the same phrases every time they are on air. Listen to the Sketchers rep sometime - you could play the same audio for pretty much anything she’s presenting.

I think that most of us, while we don’t like to admit it, could probably do any of the presentations that the OAPs do. While I hardly watch anymore, there were times I had it on mostly for background noise and could repeat the presentations ad nauseam. The thing that is annoying about keeping QVC running is that we have to realize that many people just do “Q Checks,” so they have to repeat the info - I am guessing every 10 minutes? - to get to the drive-by viewers. Since I rarely buy clothes anymore, and have no more room for kitchen gadgets, I will just check when David is on and then do a snark drive-by when Skunk is on. I cannot even tolerate a check when either of the con artists are on. I just wait for the brilliant minds of the people here to tell me what I missed.

Hello everyone, just a quick question. My daughter bought a Patricia Nash leather bag that is gorgeous but some water got on a small area and it seems to have stained it. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks
I have heard that lightly cleaning the stained area with a mix of distilled water and white vinegar will do the job, but you need to blot it then let it dry naturally. Leather conditioner helps too.
