I was just tuning in to see Guy’s Farewell food show and guess who is on representing the FERIDES line of peanuts - Shannon Smith!!! She looks ok, although she made some faces when Guy said that she was the one who mentored him when he first started (and she was thinking, “then WHY am I not working?” You can read it on her face). As an OAP, she is letting Guy do a lot of the talking while she is shoving peanuts in her mouth. And the product is over and she is gone. She was too busy eating to even say good-bye. Hmmm, wonder if she will be back?

Some of the comments on the HSN boards are unhinged. People’s whole lives seemingly turned upside down by the hosts being in Pennsylvania.

The HSN FB page dropped a statement last night clarifying the move. For PR to have gotten involved at this point indicates confusion among shoppers and potentially signals that HSN is losing sales because of this. Not good.
Edit to say: Not saying HSN should remain in FL but that Q really could have handled the announcements and host departures better. Until now there’s been a drip drop of info from Q, HSN, and the hosts since the WARN layoff notice earlier this year.

Why would you want 2 T-shirts the exact same color? And no, having two different necklines doesn’t make them different enough to hang in my closet. Short of some uniform requirement, I don’t get this at all.

There is still so much confusion about the HSN/QVC sharing studios. On the other board, there are still people thinking they they will be hosting together or that it will be one channel. It doesn’t matter how often people tell them that they are 2 separate channels (at least for now), the whole thing was not communicated well at all. And HSN is showing repeats in the middle of the day because they don’t have their act together enough to be able to function in PA. They are losing a lot of viewers and shoppers because of this disconnect. Which is too bad, because I usually find HSN has a better selection and much, much calmer hosts. And often free shipping.

I would not be surprised if the Q is deliberately screwing them over by not having their studios set up and running in time for their arrival. Eventually, i do believe we will see a merger of the two networks, and all hell will probably break loose. No regard for the fact that these hosts gave up life as they know it to move from FLA to PA. It will be a “take it or leave it” situation with pink slips flying through the air in the shape of paper airplanes landing everywhere. But in the meantime, QVC will continue to bleed money into ridiculous directions via TikTok, Over the Menopause Hill, and Shawn Ruins Christmas.

The HSN brand name has diminished in value and QVC Group has written in down on the balance sheet.
I give it 12-18 months until HSN as a brand disappears and its channels may become specialized QVC4 and QVC5.

Showing repeats on a Sunday afternoon is crazy! HSN hosts are more professional than QVC!
They didn’t consider their audience when communicating the changes. And we all know how rumors become fact on social media…

If the Q considered their audience, we’d have a whole different set of hosts! No Jane, Shawn, or Mally for sure. Maybe more. None of those 3 can be rehabilitated LOL

Too many years in the business world have taught me that the moves that are being made signal the end of HSN as we know it. May not be today and it may not be tomorrow or next month, but it’s coming. I just wish that they didn’t drag those people out of Florida, have them move all the way up here establish themselves, buy homes, spend money, and then potentially have the rug pulled out from under them. I will say that they are grown adult,s and if they don’t realize that’s a possibility, then they should open their eyes.
When I was watching Amy Morrison today, and I assume that it was a live performance, she said this was her last show. She wasn’t going to be moving north and that it was because she had a family in Florida, she had a son in high school in Florida, a husband in Florida etc., and it just wasn’t gonna work for her. I wonder how many of the HSN people are single. I know Suzanne Runyon isn’t, but her kids are out of the house. It would be difficult for a spouse to just pull up stakes and move to Pennsylvania if they’re established in a career. .
I suppose decent rentals are as difficult to come by in the Philadelphia area as they are nationwide, but if I was in the shoes of the HSN people moving north, I’d be a renter not a buyer for awhile.

Per HSN’s individual host schedules, Valerie Stup’s final show is tomorrow and Lynn’s will be Wednesday AM. One of vendors mentioned in a Facebook comment a while back that operations from FL cease around midday Wednesday the 25th, so this checks out.
Went back to watch the tail end of Michelle Yarn’s final show from yesterday and she mentioned she’d be back in July. I imagine she’d be representing a vendor unless there are plans for her to no longer be departing the network.
Also caught Helen Keaney, Amy Morrison, and Guy Yovan’s final shows and was (pleasantly) surprised that they were allowed 1-2 minutes to say goodbye. That can be a risk for a network’s bottom line but also, some of the on-air supervisors are probably also leaving, so they probably DGAF.

HSN has posted its entire July schedule.
Michelle is on thru July 25th.
Lynn thru July 10th.
I read elsewhere that Lynn is traveling to QVC for a week for these July shows.
Maybe Michelle is doing the same temporarily until they get their corporate act together.
Interesting! I stand corrected then on July as I was viewing their individual pages. Good that Michelle and Lynn will be on air for a while longer then.
Also, has anyone else seen HSN’s new studio in PA? Everything seems so crammed and the lighting is terrible. Maybe Q is working on a couple other sets for them… but I have doubts.

Wow, they’re not even trying with HSN! It says LIVE in one corner, and Today’s Special Encore in another.
Maybe it’s HSN lingo, but QVC calls their reruns Encore Presentations. So…

I love when Sharif is on - he gets so excited about his bags and refers to the viewers as “lady.” “I swear to you, lady!”
Also, you can tell they’re in PA - the PA’s stuck a bottle of putrid Roar in one of the bags.
