Isn’t that the one where everyone had pig snouts or something and she was beautiful by people standards?

That’s also like the movie I just saw with Demi Moore called The Substance, and she makes a horrific deal to keep herself looking young and perfect. That movie was disgusting and gory and for about 30 seconds, I felt sorry for her thinking that she had to do that when most people would be thrilled to look like Demi.

A lot of women who have lots of cosmetic surgery end up looking like that - their faces are flattened from the upper lip area to just under their eyes, their cheekbones are very angular, and their mouths are stretched out wide with protruding lips. It makes them look like they cannot fully close their eyes anymore. And they almost always have blindingly white veneers on their teeth. I guess it’s an acquired aesthetic. I think it looks ghoulish. And I wonder what they will do as they actually age? At some point, is there enough living cartilage and bone structure in place under all of that to continue the refurbishment? Will their aging skin adjust?

I have many times thought about getting a nose job - I had two French parents who each had sizable noses. I have a fairly prominent nose. But both my fear about the recovery (and results) and not having that common family trait has held me back.

Or you can look like this, she is a model in the UK.

Yet another cyborg. Good grief.:alien:

And I can’t stand my neck but I wouldn’t want to risk trying to fix it. After having had surgery to remove a brain tumor a year ago, frivolous surgery would not be a good choice. What a shame these women feel the need to alter themselves so radically. We need to normalize admiring other folks for their talents and not their looks. But that idea is too old fashioned. Happy New Year Fellow Snarkers!

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. I embrace each wrinkle as I’ve smiled, laughed, cried… same with my scars-I have a nose scar from skin cancer, a chest scar from my port for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and one very stupid self inflicted scar on my arm when I hated myself…. They all are reminders of where I’ve been, what I’ve overcome and how powerful I am.
And today is my birthday… daddy’s little tax deduction.. lol. So very thankful for another trip around the sun.

You are so right! Sorry that you’ve gone through all of that. It’s a tough road. But I hope you have a wonderful birthday and make some great memories to bring out into the sunlight in 2026! The best to you.

I hope that all is well with you now. Big hugs. You are right about not needing to get surgery or injections to make people like us. We just need to cultivate the goodness that’s already inside of us and let that shine.
